Effective 16 August 2026.
Wicklings is a small game by an independent developer. It is built to know as little about you as possible.
No sign-up is needed to play. The game stores your progress (records, settings, match seats) on your device. The server keeps:
An account backs up your record so a lost phone doesn’t lose it. There are three ways in and none of them uses a password: a recovery code this app makes up and shows you once, Sign in with Apple, and Sign in with Google. From Apple or Google we receive a pseudonymous identifier and — only if you choose to share it — your email address. We never see or store a password. The backup holds your match results, live-match seats and settings.
In the game: MY GAMES → SAVED ✓ → DELETE MY ACCOUNT. This removes everything the server holds about the account immediately — identifiers, the backup, and the recovery code’s hash. Your on-device data stays yours.
No advertising, no third-party analytics or trackers, no selling or sharing of data. The service runs on Railway (hosting infrastructure).
The developer does get a running notification of activity — “a new player opened the game”, “a match finished” — in a private Slack channel, so a game this small can be watched over. Those messages carry a made-up nickname, never your device identifier, never a match code, and nothing you typed.
